In 2007, the Japanese automaker Nissan started producing a new series of compact crossover SUVs, named "Rogue". The first Rogue appeared as a 2008 model. Rogue came to replace the Nissan X-Trail in Canada and the Nissan Xterra in Mexico. Nissan Rogue was manufactured in two generations.
The first generation (2008–2013) was based on the Nissan C platform and featured 105.9 inches wheelbase. This generation was equipped with 2.5 L QR25DE I4 engine and CVT transmission. The Rogue was also provided with anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, remote keyless entry, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, and more useful features.
The second generation was launched in 2014. This is a version of Nissan X-Trail that was modified for the North American market. The second generation was built on the Nissan/Renault Common Module Family (CMF) platform and comes with slightly increased wheelbase. The new Nissan Rogue is available with a variety of new features as well: pure drive, standard 4-wheel independent suspension, Electric Power-assisted Steering, 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System, optional 3-row/7-passenger seating, and more.
