MAZDA RX-7

In 1978, the Japanese Automobile manufacturer Mazda introduced a new line of sports cars, called "RX-7". It featured FMR layout and 2-door coupe body style. Mazda RX-7 has been produced in three generations.

The first generation (1978 – 1985) came with 95 inches wheelbase and a stylish design with pop-up headlamps. This generation was equipped with 1146 cc 12A, 1146 cc 12A turbo or 1308 cc 13B RE-EGI engine. Four transmission types were provided as well: 4-speed manual, 5-speed manual, 3-speed automatic and 4-speed automatic transmission.

The second generation (1985 – 1991) featured a new styling and a slightly increased wheelbase. This generation was also available with a 1.3 L engine. There were four engine options – two of them were naturally aspirated and two were turbocharged engines. The second generation also came with better handling, more accurate steering, independent rear suspension, and disc brakes.

In 1991, the third generation has started. The RX-7 models from this generation were considered as some of the best balanced vehicles with a world-class handling. The third generation was also provided with three 1.3 L Twin turbo engine options and 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Although Mazda RX-7 has received positive reviews and has become popular very quickly, the series was discontinued in 2002.
