FORD EXPLORER SPORT TRAC

In 2000, the legendary American Automobile manufacturer Ford has introduced a new line of mid-size sport utility trucks (SUTs), named "Ford Explorer Sport Trac" (but they are also known as "Ford Sport Trac"). It is built on the Ford Explorer SUV and features 4-door SUT body style with body-on-frame. Ford Explorer Sport Trac was produced in two generations.

The first generation (2001–2005) was based on a lengthened Explorer chassis and featured 125.9 in wheelbase. The Sport Trac was equipped with a 4.0 L Cologne SOHC V6 engine and 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. The vehicle’s bed was constructed from a plastic composite material. An optional hard plastic tonneau cover was available as well.

The second generation was launched in 2006. It was larger than the previous generation and featured increased wheelbase. The new Sport Trac came with 4.0 L Cologne V6 or 4.6 L 24-valve Modular V8 engine and 5-speed or 6-speed automatic transmission. This generation was also provided with a variety of useful features and modifications, such as: AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, a completely new reinforced frame, four-wheel independent suspension, and more. However, in 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac was discontinued.
