Chrysler 300 is a line of luxury vehicles, created by the American automobile manufacturer Chrysler. The nameplate “Chrysler 300” appeared on several different series of vehicles. The first Chrysler 300 models were the "letter series" – high performance luxury cars that were produced from 1955 to 1965. Although full-sized and costlier, the Chrysler 300 letter series are often characterized as one of the muscle car's ancestors.
Between years 1962 and 1971, Chrysler manufactured the 300 Non-Letter Series – full-sized automobiles with 4-door versions that were created as a replacement for the 1961 Chrysler Windsor. In 1979, Chrysler built a Cordoba coupe, which was called “Chrysler Cordoba 300”. Nearly 20 years later, Chrysler introduced the new series – Chrysler 300M, a full-sized luxury sports sedan. Its production continued until 2004.
In 2005, Chrysler presented the newest series – “Chrysler 300”, which is produced today as well. This new series can be described as a full-size, outstanding, luxury sedan and was manufactured in two generations. The first generation (2005 – 2011) was based on the rear-wheel drive Chrysler LX platform and featured double wishbone front suspension. The vehicles from this generation were also provided with a huge grille, long hood and low roofline. The second and newest generation was launched in 2011 – it comes with sedan body-style and significant exterior modifications. New interior improvements and modern safety features are available as well.
