In 2008 Chevrolet started manufacturing a line of compact cars, named Cruze. Chevrolet Cruze was created as a replacement for the Chevrolet Cobalt and Daewoo Lacetti. Cruze is based on the front-wheel drive GM Delta II platform and is available with a durable construction – 65% of this construction is built from high quality, sturdy steel. Chevrolet Cruze also features front suspension with MacPherson struts and rear suspension with a solid torsion beam axle.

Chevrolet Cruze comes with hydraulically-assisted rack and pinion steering as well as braking-wise, ventilated front, and solid rear disc brakes. In order to neutralize noise, vibration, and harshness, Cruze features an isolated four-point engine mount. Some areas, such as front-of-dashboard panel, luggage compartment, doors, carpet, headlining and decklid internals are provided with implemented sound damping material.

In 2012 Chevrolet Cruze was upgraded with redesigned front fascia, new alloy wheels and optional MyLink entertainment system. Two years later, the design was improved with a new grille and a more angular shape.

The second generation of Chevrolet Cruze is launched in late 2015. The newest model, 2016 North American-market Cruze, is available with a more upscale design and a more muscular appearance. It is also provided with a new 1.4 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and some modern features, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Capability features.
