The outstanding Bilstein EM46 Series Shock Absorber utilizes the elements of spring rate and shock damping into one product to bring forth better performance for late model racers. It significantly removes car spring oscillation to allow optimized tire traction to the surface. Incorporating a sturdy steel construction and a 46mm piston, the EM46 excels at the most demanding motorsport applications. When under high pressure, this shock absorber appropriately emulsifies the nitrogen gas charge into the oil. It allows the precise adjustment of compression and rebound damping forces to elevate driving quality on both the race track and the dirty off-roads.
It utilizes a 22mm diameter rod and a severe duty 3 stage high temperature rod seal where the rod appropriately compresses the oil when entering the shock tube and produces spring rate. The compression of oil in a cylinder with minimal oscillation in the oil spring results in the raising of the car's left rear as well as the rear deck and spoiler getting better airflow to produce a quicker and more efficient downforce.
